Our
philosophy is that anti-depressants and other psychotropic medications
should be prescribed only when psychotherapy alone is not enough to
bring significant relief to the client. When this is the case, talk
therapy with one of our therapists in combination with psychotropic
medications may be the most appropriate course of action. For most
people medication is only needed for a short period of time. For others,
a longer course of treatment may be necessary. Your therapist will
assess your concerns and make a recommendation. If medications are
recommended, your therapist will give you a clinical diagnosis. Things
our therapists consider before suggesting adding medication to treatment
are: how long you have been suffering with the symptoms, the severity of
the symptoms and how they are affecting your every day functioning, your
personal background and history of medication use, and your willingness
to consider taking psychotropic medications. |

We have a team of psychiatrists we work with who will prescribe medications when appropriate. Specialties include Pediatric (child)psychiatry, Adolescent psychiatry, Adult psychiatry, and Geriatric (elder) psychiatry. Your therapist will carefully match you with a physician based upon your specific needs, age range, and clinical diagnosis. Then both your therapist and psychiatrist will work together to help you get back on track and enjoy the life you deserve!
Let us know when you contact us if you would like a Medication Evaluation by one of our therapists.
